Checking the oil in a Q7 is fairly easy and should be done once a month. Note that most Audi have an oil pressure gauge next to the speedometer - this gauge does not tell you what your oil level is, however the video above will show you how check the oil level in your 2017 Audi Q7. Make sure your engine is cold when you check the oil in your Q7. Otherwise the dipstick will read slightly low. In addition to checking the oil level, you also want to look at the condition of the oil when you have the dipstick out. If the oil in your Q7 is dirty or smells like gasoline, you probably need an oil change.

If you notice that the oil level in your Q7 is extremely low or empty, fill it up and check it again the next time you drive. If it is extremely low again, have your mechanic take a look before driving it much more.

Tips

The

engine

oil

consumption

may

be

up

to

0.5

quart/600

miles

(0.5

liter/1,000

km),

de-

(5,000

The

engine

oil

level

must

be

checked

regularly.

It

is

best

to

check

each

time

you

refuel

your

vehicle

and

before

long

drives.

Because

of

the

lubrication

and

cooling

of

the

engine,

combustion

engines

consume

oil.

The

oil

consumption

varies

depending

on

the

engine

and

may change

during

the

service

life

of

the

engine.

Engines

generally

consume

more

oil

at

the

beginning

during

the

break-in

period.

Then

oil

consumption

stabilizes

after

the

break-in

period.

Under

normal

conditions,

oil

consumption

depends

on

the

quality

and

viscosity

of

the

oil,

the

engine

RPM,

the

climate

conditions,

and

the

road

conditions.

The

dilution

of

oil

from

condensation

or

fuel

residue

as

well

as

the

age

of

the

oil

also play

a

role.

Because

engine

wear

increases

with

mileage,

oil

con-

sumption

will

increase

again

over

time

until

it

may

be

necessary

to

replace

worn

compo-

nents.

Because

all

these

variables

play

a

role,

it is

not

possible

to

define

an

oil

consumption

standard.

Therefore,

the

oil

level

must

be

checked

regularly.

If

you believe

that

your

engine

has

in-

creased

its

oil

consumption,

contact

an

au-

thorized

Audi

dealer

or

authorized

Audi

Facility

to

the

cause.

Please

note

that

an

How do I check the oil life on my Audi?

Your Audi will be due for service every 10,000 miles or one year from your last maintenance, whichever comes first. An indicator light on your dashboard, that resembles a wrench, will activate when you reach your next service interval. The “Service Due” indicator light is a friendly reminder that service is due.

Why does my Audi keep saying low oil?

Oil pressure is created by the oil pump, so your oil pump is likely malfunctioning. A clogged oil filter can also prompt the oil light to come on. This is a relatively easy fix. If the clogged filter was preventing oil from flowing properly, a new one should restore proper function.
