Baked mac and cheese with evaporated milk and velveeta

Velveeta mac is one of my kid’s most requested recipes. The Velveeta cheese makes a creamier sauce than sharp cheddar does. It tastes just like the Velveeta cheese sauce you can buy at the store.

If you’re looking for a side dish for the cheese lover in your home, make my Velveeta mac and cheese recipe for dinner tonight.

This recipe does taste just like Ree Drummonds mac and cheese. I was lucky enough to meet her and eat at her restaurant on a blog trip a few years ago. You have got to get a copy of her cookbook. I just love ALL of her recipes.

Best pasta for Velveeta mac and cheese

This recipe calls for shells, but you can use any type of cooked pasta, including elbow macaroni noodles.

How can I make my mac and cheese creamier?

There are two ways to make your mac and cheese creamier. First, add more Velveeta cheese. Second, add a can of evaporated milk to the sauce.

Adding more cheese will make your mac and cheese more flavorful and creamier. If you want a richer flavor, use all Velveeta cheese. This is so much better than the boxed stuff.

If you want a lower fat mac and cheese, use half Velveeta and half cheddar cheese. The cheddar will add some creaminess without all the fat.

To make your mac and cheese sauce creamier, add a can of evaporated milk. This will also make the sauce thinner, so you may need to add more Velveeta cheese to thicken it up.
