One glance at the top of the menu is all it takes to settle in to this delicious vibe — Biscuits with Jalapeno Sausage Gravy, a Fried Green Tomato Benne (served over a biscuit, topped with cornmeal fried green tomatoes, and poached eggs with a citrus hollandaise) or the Pulled Pork & Grits (slow cooked pulled pork and Anson Mills grits with salsa verde and poached eggs)… see what I mean? Don’t get me wrong, the Cuban coffee, French crepes from the food truck, and the tamales and tostadas at the Mexican stand at the north end of the market are unbelievably delicious breakfast favorites at the market, sometimes you might need a bit more to start the day. Poached is the perfect place. There is plenty of indoor seating for large groups or families and outdoors as well. The service is always on point and their menu offers much more than the average breakfast in Naples — from a wide array of specialty omelets to 6 different kinds of French toast and another 6 unique breakfast bennies. LuLu B’s Diner2374 Immokalee Rd, Naples (239) 596-1965 Open Daily 8:00am - 2:00pm It’s rare that we dine out anywhere and forget to take photos (hence the photo from our last visit), but that’s just what happened the last few times we’ve eaten at LuLu B’s, the bright and retro-inspired diner located at the Greentree Shopping Center at the northeast corner of Airport Rd. and Immokalee. Everything from the menu to the 60’s music to the fun plaques hanging on the walls are a welcome distraction. The spacious diner may be in a strip mall but the feel is straight out of the comfortable diners we all love — the ones where servers are the waitresses of yesteryear who shout across the room to friends coming through the door and treat you like family. They serve breakfast and lunch every day with a menu that includes traditional breakfast items and excellent breakfast sandwiches. You’ll even find heart-healthy options like Avocado toast with poached eggs and the Un-Carbo Diet Thing. And if you come for lunch, their burgers and Reubens are really good. We first discovered them at their old location in North Naples and like their new location even more. 13.
