The third season of Degrassi: Next Class premiered on January 9, 2017 on Family Channel under the teen block F2N in Canada and began streaming internationally on January 6, 2017 on Netflix.[1][2] This season follows a group of high school juniors and new a batch of seniors from Degrassi Community School, a fictional school in Toronto, Ontario, and depicts some of the typical issues and challenges common to a teenager's life. Although 1 school year has passed since season 2, This season picks up 3 months after the bus crash into the new school year. It depicts on how the school is trying to heal after the "accident" that left 2 students in conditions they could never come back from. It's also shown that over the summer, four unlikley romances blossomed while two other burned out. It will also continue to tell the stories of high school drama with groundbreaking stories such as sex, abortion, immigration, depression, oppositional defiant disorder, major depressive disorder, traumatic brain injury, dysfunctional families, sexuality, homophobia, hormones, religion, protest, disabilities, cystic fibrosis, life-threatening diseases and suicide attempts.[3] Cast[edit]Series regulars[edit]The third season has twenty-one actors receiving star billing with all nineteen of them returning from the previous season. Those in bold are new to the cast this season.[2][4]

Production[edit]This season along with season 4 were renewed in April 2016.[6] Production on the season officially began a month prior when casting calls for two new leads were released. Filming commenced in May 2016 and finished in August of the same year. The season is expected to premiere on January 6, 2017 on Netflix internationally and on January 9, 2017 on Family Channel's 'F2N' teen block.[1][2] On F2N, it will run for two weeks and use the telenovela format.
