Please try again later.Reviewed in the United States on May 30, 2022 My grandson is on the spectrum, he always asks for disney dvds for "close your eyes, get a surprise". I'm running out of options, glad I found a few at reasonable prices. :-) Reviewed in the United States on January 14, 2015 First full disclosure I own over 1,700 movies raging from silent films to the latest Super-Hero flick, so when I say this Disney Sing Along DVD is the most played DVD in my collection its not just a small statement. Now I owned the original 1988 and 1997 VHS re-release of these songs so I been watching and singing to these shorts for a long time, and I gone from watching it with my little brother while my mom would put up the Christmas decorations and cook the Christmas dinner to now watching it with my wife and 2 year old while we put the Christmas decorations. For those who owned the original VHS, this DVD adds a few songs at the beginning and end of the original set list. Also there is a narrator introducing each song with Christmas village background, while the original only had title cards before each song, some people might feel the narrator could be a bit distracting but its only a few seconds and it helps tie in all the songs together. Also the original had Jimmy Cricket present the show at the beginning while singing "From All of Us to All of You" with Mickey playing the piano but that little segment was from an older Disney TV special so I don't consider it a big loss. Even if the above changes bother you, you should still consider getting this DVD over the VHS because the quality its simply better. These shorts were not remastered for this release but you can tell they were taken from the masters since they look clearer and slightly more colorful than the VHS The set list is as below "It's Beginning to Look a Lot Like Christmas" - new Obviously the newer additions use more recent cartoons as footage for the songs; so that might be more appealing to some kids. I personally prefer the middle section with
the older cartoons but all in all it has a little something for everyone. Reviewed in the United States on January 5, 2014 This video is Ok. It's
not the best, but not the worst. My 1.5 years old lost interest in this really quick. Maybe she will enjoy it more when she gets older (I hope). The images were from older disney cartoons, which is fine. The music is of classic holiday songs. Reviewed in the United States on October 1, 2020 Had this when my kids were little, purchased this for my grand daughters. They love it. It is so fun and they dance and sing along. Not sure they are learning to read yet because they are so young but they understand the the bouncing mickey is over the words that are being sung. Reviewed in the United States on December 11, 2013 The DVD came promptly and as described. I bought this after having enjoyed the VHS version as a child. The original songs are all here as far as I can tell. There are some additional songs but if you are not interested in the update it is very easy to just skip ahead a few scenes to the old content as the old songs are all grouped together in the middle. I was not bothered by the talking between songs as some other reviewers noted. It's really only 10 or so seconds of talking. I was disappointed that the song "March of the Wooden Soldiers" was "updated". The original was one of my favorite songs and they gave it a more modern back beat which makes the song a big awkward! If you are looking for a replacement of an old favorite like I was, I would still recommend going ahead and purchasing this DVD. Reviewed in the United States on November 18, 2013 The only reason I don't give this a 5 star rating is because it's not the old "Very Merry Christmas Songs" that I remember watching on VHS as a kid. This, of course, is not the seller's fault. The disc came in a very timely fashion, in perfect brand new condition; thus, the seller gets 5 stars. I only wish (as many other reviewers feel) that the narration was not in between each song. It interrupts the continuity and calm feeling of the songs. I used to fall asleep to the old one--the songs flowed so smoothly and it was soothing. Unfortunately this is not the case. But overall, for those who love Disney and Christmas, you MUST own this, whether you're a devoted watcher of the old one or not. :) Reviewed in the United States on December 27, 2020 My 20 ish year old kids had this in VHS. This is a good video it could be updated. My granddaughter loves it. Top reviews from other countries5.0 out of 5 stars A Must for Christmas ' Cheer Reviewed in the United Kingdom on November 28, 2016 Absolutely fantastic. An exact replica of the 1988 VHS version, of which ourselves and our children loved to sing to together. The bonus is that Ten new songs have been added to it to cater for our Grandchildren. People who criticise this DVD did not do there research first. Yes it's Region 1. Then get a multi region DVD player. Or search the DVD region reprogram code. The product is Brilliant absolutely Brilliant. 5.0 out of 5 stars superb Reviewed in the United Kingdom on February 12, 2013 this is a fantastic christmas dvd, i loved it even more than i expected. there's loads of songs on it, over 20, some of the traditional ones and others which i didn't know but which are nice and will grow on me. each track is accompanied by appropriate disney clips, quite a few are from the old traditional disney cartoons, and the words to each song on the screen. what a pity this is only available in region 1 format. i actually bought a region free dvd player just to be able to play this (and hopefully others i can now buy) and frankly it was worth it. (Sony dvd player region free only £30 on ebay - brand new - bargain to be able to watch this !) 5.0 out of 5 stars Simply one of the best Christmas perennials. Reviewed in the United Kingdom on October 5, 2013 Had the VHS tape for my children in the 80's and played it to destruction! Just purchased this DVD from the USA and managed to find a fix for our small Samsung DVD player. It worked. The grandchildren are now enjoying it 3 months before Christmas. No doubt another generation of fans will continue to keep super memories alive. Buy it and find a way to play region 1 DVDs, I assure you you will not regret the effort. 3.0 out of 5 stars Good but not the same as the video version Reviewed in the United Kingdom on June 28, 2013 I remember this sing along song from my childhood and as I own a multi-region dvd player I decided to buy it on dvd. Only about half of the songs are the ones on the video version, so I was a little disappointed that it wasn't the exact sing along songs that I remember. However some of the new songs sound like classic versions of those songs that we know well, such as White Christmas. They have just put some Disney scenes with what sounds like the original song. So even though its not all I wanted it to be you can't fault the quality of the new songs that they have added. 3.0 out of 5 stars Would of been more if it wasn't for the extra Reviewed in the United Kingdom on December 8, 2012 Well like most I LOVED the video as a kid. BUT why on earth did they put new songs on it it just proves that Disney can't make them like they used too. And I didn't like how they introduced each song with the most boring narrator ever , what I liked about it is that it all flowed together. Still love the original songs though. Overall disappointed glad I didn't buy it at region 2 price. What is the most nostalgic Christmas song?40 Classic Christmas Songs You'll Love Listening to Year After....
