The sooner a permanent tooth that was knocked out (avulsed) is reimplanted the higher success to save the avulsed tooth. Please call our team at Parkway Pediatric Dentistry as soon as possible and we will guide you through the steps needed. Always hold the avulsed tooth by the crown (chewing part) and not the root.

Do not rinse or place the avulsed tooth in water. The order preference in the transport medium is Hank’s Balanced Salt Solution, which is sometimes located at schools or athletic events, cold milk, or collecting saliva and placing the tooth in the cup.
