Documents recommended for shredding include anything that contains your identifying information, such as old checkbooks, credit card offers, account statements, etc. Shredding services are provided by
Shred-it.

Community Shred Day Events
Our Community Shred Day events are open from 9 a.m. to noon at the below locations. These events are free and open to the public. A maximum of two containers with a 25-pound limit per container will be accepted. Attendees are asked to bring documents in the cargo area of your vehicle, remain
in your vehicle and enjoy the free, full-service event. Please do not arrive before 8:30 a.m. to allow event staff to set up for the event.

In-branch Shred Opportunities
Members can safely discard their unwanted, sensitive documents in locked bins located inside selected branches during regular business hours on the dates scheduled below. Please limit documents to shred at these locations to 25 pounds per person.

How to Prepare
Documents recommended for shredding include anything that contains your identifying information, such as old checkbooks, credit card offers, account statements, etc. Please avoid bringing magazines, newspapers, coupons or similar items that don't contain your sensitive information. Please follow shred limit guidelines below:
- Community Shred Day events - maximum of two containers, 25-pound limit per container
- In-Branch Shred Opportunities - maximum of 25 pounds

Results
Since the first Community Shred Day in 2009, Veridian has helped approximately 49,000 people shred more than 1.3 million pounds of unwanted, sensitive documents. That equates to an estimated 10,384 trees and 1,853 cubic yards of landfill space saved. All shredded paper is recycled into commercial-grade paper towels, toilet paper and other paper products.

Shoppers are invited to Security Service’s free “Shred Day” Saturday, April 30, from 8 a.m. to noon at Rolling Oaks Mall at 6909 North Loop 1604 East in San Antonio, in the parking lot between Sears and Dillard’s.
Participants are encouraged to take documents containing sensitive information, such as bank statements, tax returns, medical bills, or insurance policy forms, in a plastic bag for disposal.
