GE Refrigerator water dispenser worked fine after I changed filter, then just stopped working a half hour later and now says Dispenser Off. Not making ice either. Any ideas what could be wrong? from Appliances

replaced water filter and water inlet valve-- but unable to clear message of replace water filter/ dispenser off light. removed power for over 20 min
tried different panel buttons to clear message. also getting a code of sa 66 when trying to clear. any info would be great. thanks tmol

That's very odd tmol, I have not run into that problem as of yet.

hey jake found the fix. the problem is the water filter housing, first it has to be genuine GE filter there is a sensor in the filter. the code can not be cleared it only clears then the filter is installed correctly. DONT twist filter only push it in.
the computer shuts the water system down if it detects any problems at the housing. tmol

Did the customer try to twist the new filter in and broke the filter housing?
