- The Muggle caretaker is killed at the very beginning.
- Unlike the previous 3 films, which featured some violent scenes but were brief and family friendly, this film features much more intense action scenes. More of the violence is directed to humans, and there is a larger fatality rate than previous films.

Spoilers
The Parents Guide items below may give away important plot points.
Violence & Gore
- For Voldemort's resurrection, Pettigrew cuts off his own hand (offscreen); no blood, but his hand is absent from his sleeve. He is then given an artificial hand. He also uses a knife to cut open Harry's arm, and takes his blood for a potion.
- The movie introduces us to the Killing Curse, which kills whoever gets hit by it immediately. While leaving the body unscathed without any gore, the idea of a spell that kills people immediately is rather unsettling. This spell is shown numerous times throughout the movie as the villian's primary offensive spell, killing a main character
- Cedric is killed by a spell, and his body is seen clearly but with no gore.
- Dark wizards in black cloaks and skull mask attack at en event shooting fire and burning tents. Harry gets trampled and is knocked out.
Frightening & Intense Scenes
- Wormtail throws Voldemort in foetus form in a cauldron, lifts up a bone, amputate his hand and cuts Harry's arm with small amount of blood seen on a knife. That is how Voldemort (physical form) comes to life.
- A father cries and screams loudly over his dead son. This scene is also very emotional.
- The Death Eaters (in black cloaks and skull masks) raid a Quidditch event.
Is Goblet of Fire suitable for 8 year old?
At the end of the day, always consider what you think your kid can handle and use your judgement, but generally speaking, I wouldn't show this to kids under 11.
Why is Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire PG
Both “Goblet of Fire” and “Order of the Phoenix” were rated PG-13 for “sequences of fantasy violence and frightening images,” according to descriptors provided by the ratings board. “Half-Blood Prince” is rated PG for “scary images, some violence, language and mild sensuality.”
Is the Goblet of Fire appropriate for 10 year olds?
This movie is rated PG 13. The film is more violent, and has a scarier plot than the others. We see the evil Lord Voldemort fully return in this movie and kill a student which may scare kids. This film is appropriate for kids ages 10 and up, with parental guidance due to the violent images.
Can a 7 year old watch Goblet of Fire?
For these reasons we wouldn't recommend 'The Goblet of Fire' to a child under 10 or one who dislikes long sustained scary moments.
