Coach House Ratho Park Steading

Ratho (2.7 km from Edinburgh Airport)

Located 12 km from Edinburgh Zoo, Coach House Ratho Park Steading provides accommodation with free WiFi and free private parking. We liked EVERYTHING about this beautiful property. Danii and her husband have created a beautiful home here. Everything is up to date and totally modern on the inside while keeping (and enhancing) all of the charm on the outside of this former stable house. The entire property is beautiful as are the surroundings. This is very convenient if you want to day trip into Edinburgh OR get to the airport easily. We booked our stay to be close to the Airport, but this was so much more. Ratho and its surroundings were very nice and the location is peaceful and quiet (never heard a plane). We wish we could have stayed longer and hope to return some day. PS: Loved the modern bathroom and shower. And especially the high end soaps and shampoo from Aesop.com.

Location and Transport

Nearby Hotels and Airport Facilities

  • The location was central to Edinburgh, Stirling, and the roads that head to the Highlands. The house was extremely well kept, beautiful, impeccably clean, and had all the modern amenities. The instruction binder on-site was thorough and left no questions unanswered. There are tons of restaurants within walking distance and phenomenal views as well!

  • We stayed only one night before flying back to Australia, and found the room very quiet especially as it was next to the Airport. Facilities were very good and the staff very helpful. More choice from the restaurant would have been good.

  • Only purpose of staying in the area was for the hotel. I have stayed in much better hotels so won’t be returning. Surrounding area is not a place you would go walks as it’s close to the airport and industrial estates. I purposely booked for a relaxing weekend but if you’re looking for a hotel for visiting Edinburgh choose something else as there plenty choices for the same money. Tram park and ride is next to the airport parking but it’s not within walking distance really.

  • Nothing did not stay here was not made clear that this was a shared flat there was no access to living room or kitchen and even when in room could here people who lived in house speaking left after 10 mins and booked hotel total waste of money would never book again

  • Although parking is difficult in the town, it is a unique spot with wonderful views over the River Forth to the Forth Rail Bridge, the Road bridge and the Queensferry Crossing. There are a number of historic buildings and a very quaint Main Street. There is a choice of pubs and eateries.

  • walking across from the airport would be much easier if you persuaded them/council to make some dropped kerbs to enable suitcases to be moved easily to yr site. My husband who is not particualrly well fond it exhausting.

How do I get from Edinburgh airport to my hotel?

The cheapest and quickest option to get to the city centre from the Airport is to take the Airlink 100 bus route. This bus route goes directly to St Andrews Square in city centre, with only a few stops along the way – the journey takes around 30 minutes.

Is it best to stay in Old Town Edinburgh?

Old Town and the Royal Mile is the best area to stay in Edinburgh for sightseeing (especially for first-timers). While the New Town with its numerous restaurants is an excellent location for shopping and dining out.

Where do tourists stay in Edinburgh?

The Old Town is the best area for first timers and families in Edinburgh. Seen here is the pedestrianized Royal Mile thoroughfare. The Cheval Old Town Chambers is just up ahead and to the left. It's where we stayed on our most recent visit and I can't recommend it enough.
