Show I know there are many posts already, but I'm asking for the latest costs for changing the existing tires to the new rims. What would be the reasonable range? Thanks a lot. (I asked one local tire shop, they would charge me $187 for this) level 1
Mount and balance should only be $15-30 per wheel/tire. What were they doing for $187?! level 1 Costco charges $15 per wheel/tire with mounting and balancing. If you buy the tires from them, they insure them and do rotations as a part of the cost. level 2 Can I just let them swap tires for me without getting a new set of tires? I don’t need a new set at this moment. level 1 I work at a walmart auto care center, and we charge $10 for the mount and $12 for the balance, some shops might include an extra $5 charge for dismounting the tires. I’d say between $88 and $108 is reasonable for anywhere really level 2 Thanks for such valuable feedback! level 1 $80-$100 at your local chain (Firestone and America's Tire). Chains will check date code on the tires you're putting on so make sure they're not trashed and old. Cheaper at a mom-and-pop/non-chain tire shop.
