You have the right to a cost estimateIf you do not have health care insurance or you will not be using your insurance for your care at Planned Parenthood, by law you have the right to receive a good faith estimate for the care you are seeking if you schedule your appointment at least three business days in advance. At your request, PPMI will send you an estimate of the expected charges by mail or email at least one day before your visit. Show Please note that the actual cost of services will differ from the estimated cost if you qualify for discounts, if you have a change in insurance status, or if your services change once you are at the health center. What if I am not ready to book an appointment yet?You can call our Patient Access Center at 800-230-7526 to request a good faith estimate of charges for the services you are seeking and costs related to those services. What if my appointment is not scheduled at least three days in advance? If your scheduled appointment does not allow three days to provide the good faith estimate, PPMI will provide a verbal estimate of charges, but you will not receive a written estimate prior to your appointment. There may be a range of low-cost services available to you at your local health center and for some patients, there are no-cost services. The price for services at Planned Parenthood depends on many different factors, like:
There are definitely situations in which your Planned Parenthood visit might be totally free. Your visit could cost you nothing, depending on the service you need and your health insurance plan, if you’re insured. Most health insurance plans must cover 100% of the costs of preventive care — like birth control, STD testing, cancer screenings, and wellness visits — with no copay or out-of-pocket costs to you. If you don’t have insurance or your insurance doesn’t cover the cost of your visit, the health center might use a sliding scale, which means it would figure out the price depending on how much money you make. The Trump administration forced Planned Parenthood out of the Title X program, which provided funds for patients to get free or low-cost services. The Biden administration is working on changing this so that Planned Parenthood health centers will be able to provide affordable health care to even more people. We believe everyone deserves access to affordable, high-quality health care. If you’re worried about costs, talk with the staff at your local Planned Parenthood. They’ll do everything they can to help you get the care you need at a price you can afford. Tags: Planned Parenthood, cost, costs and payment, free Health care costs can be confusing. We’re here to help. Let us know if you'd like a free estimate of the costs of your care. This estimate is good for 30 days and is our best guess of what you'll be charged. The estimate is not binding, and is not a guarantee of the final billed charges to you. If you ask for an estimate, we will give it to you within five
business days.
Price ListThis list contains the undiscounted costs for our most common health care services. The price listed might be different than the amount you actually pay. For example, if you have health insurance, Medicaid, or qualify for discounted care your out-of-pocket costs might be much lower or even $0. Let us know if you’d like an estimate of your anticipated charges for your care. The list also includes CPT (Current Procedural Terminology) codes, which are a set of standardized codes to describe identical medical services among different health care providers. Because everyone uses the same codes to indicate the same services, CPT codes make it easier for you to understand and compare costs. Planned Parenthood is committed to quality, affordable health care. Please let us know if you have questions or need assistance covering the cost of your visit.
