Hi guys have a vx ss with the 4l60e just has a tranny cooler on it. Car has 410rwhp 760nm mainline. Car is cammed 3000 stall etc etc. I have had the work done in the last 2-3 years and the box is strong as ever no slipping nothing in that time. I dont give it a hard run all the time and dont change gears manually on wot. So what is the limit or am i passed it see lot of guys blowing theres up all time with more and less rwhp/tq. Box has 110k on it.

It all depends on how big your wallet is. More money spent= more strength. I have seen them advertised to take up to 800hp.

Have a hardened 4L65E (built form a 4L60E) behind a performance LS3 making ~500HP @ 650Nm and its just fine. Its supposed to be able to handle 600HP with no degradation.

I was told by Scott @ sureshift in Brissy - as long as they get treated properly and maintained well, they will last for a long time!

I had asked him about my box holding up over time and its usually those that like to make it dropbackand and other silly **** to make the oil heat up to much
