Making Homemade Oreo Milkshake

There’s only one simple step for making this Chocolate Oreo Milkshake: blend the cup of whole milk, heavy cream, sugar, vanilla and Oreo biscuits together, until well combined. It’s that simple!

Although I will add the final and most important step as an extra, which is also the best part: the toppings of this Creamy Oreo Milkshake, and obviously, drinking it.

Pour the milkshake inside of the glass, top with whipped cream, drizzle chocolate syrup on top, then add Oreo crumbs and an extra cookie if desired. Then enjoy this perfect sweet treat immediately (room temperature milkshakes don’t taste as good!)

Ingredients

  • Oreos
  • Milk of your choice

Equipment

  • Blender
Vitamix Explorian Blender, Professional-Grade, 64 oz. Low-Profile Container, Black – 65542 (Refurbished)

Variations

  • Chocolate milk tastes REALLY good with this recipe! Simply swap it out for the regular milk or plant-based milk that you’ll use for this recipe. *Just know that using chocolate milk will add more sugar.
  • Chocolate syrup
    • This recipe doesn’t have chocolate syrup. I did it on purpose to limit the added sugars. You can if you’d like, add 1 or 2 teaspoons of chocolate syrup. This variation would add less sugar than using chocolate milk ;-).
  • Use different oreos…or other cookies!
    • The possibilities are endless here. Chocolate chip cookies, peanut butter, snickerdoodle, whatever you like! Have some fun with it.

Blend ice, milk, sugar, vanilla extract and fruit together in a blender until smooth. Using skim or low fat milk will result in a fairly watery drink that will lack milkshake consistency. The more milk fat is in the milk, the more body and smoothness the milkshake will have.

How do you thicken a milkshake without ice?

Xanthan gum! Xanthan gum will add almost no calories to your recipe and 1/2 teaspoon or less to a shake or smoothie will instantly turn your consistency thick. Seriously, that's all you need. It's like a food genie in a bag.
