Why this method works

  • Like air fryer turkey bacon, cooking it in the oven is one of the best ways to make bacon. Once you make turkey bacon in the oven, you won’t go back to cooking it on the stove!
  • It’s a great way to cook for a crowd. You can easily cook several slices of turkey bacon at one time.
  • Don’t have to worry about grease splattering in a skillet or on the stove.
  • Doesn’t need much attention or babysitting. It allows you to multitask in the kitchen to get other things cooked like eggs or waffles.
  • Crispy bacon is wonderful for breakfast, on sandwiches, crumbled on salads, or even on loaded baked potatoes. Try serving alongside fried eggs, or pancakes for the ultimate breafast.

Ingredients needed

Turkey bacon – There are many different brands of turkey bacon. I’m using Jennie-O but this method will work for your favorites like Oscar Meyer turkey bacon, Applegate, Butterball, peppered bacon, and more.

You will also need a rimmed cookie sheet pan and foil or parchment paper. This helps for easier cleanup.

Make sure to use a rimmed pan so the grease doesn’t leak over the edge.

Recipe tips

  • Make sure to keep an eye on the bacon during the cooking process. The cooking time will vary depending on how done you like bacon. I would recommend checking after a total of 12 minutes of cooking time.
  • This method can also be used to make pork bacon.
  • If you are cooking thick-cut turkey bacon, the temperature will stay the same but it might need a few extra minutes of cook time. If will probably take the full 20 minutes.
  • How to make peppered turkey bacon – Sprinkle 1 teaspoon of ground black pepper on the uncooked turkey bacon before it goes in the oven. This adds a nice hint of spicy flavor.

How to store leftover turkey bacon

Have leftover bacon? Let it cool to room temperature and then store in an airtight container or zip bag. Keep it in the refrigerator for up to 3-4 days.

Reheat leftovers in the oven at 400 degrees F for about 5 minutes or in the air fryer at 380 degrees F for 2-3 minutes or until heated through.

Does turkey bacon get crispy?

Turkey bacon can get crispy. Here are a few tips to help:

  • Make sure the bacon slices are in a single layer. If they overlap, they won’t crisp up very well.
  • Don’t forget to preheat the oven before cooking. This helps get the oven nice and hot.
