Citi clients with US checking accounts get free access to the Citi Mobile banking App with Zelle. Zelle is a money transfer platform that enables fast and convenient means to send and request money to and from anyone who has a US bank account (Citi and Zelle participating banks).

To be eligible for the service, you need to have a U.S. consumer or small business checking account, valid email address, and U.S mobile number. Currently, Citi does not support money transfers through Zelle using a savings account or credit card.

Transactions can be completed within minutes between Citi customers who are enrolled with Zelle. It is also possible to request money from up to 9 people through the App’s “Split” option (for consumer accounts only).

To ensure fast transfers, simply instruct your recipient to download the Zelle App before the transaction. If your recipient is not a Citi account holder, you can still send or request money, via the Zelle App if his/her bank is one of Zelle’s partners.

Note: You can only transfer funds to other people or use the “Split” feature by using an enrolled U.S mobile number. Make sure that the U.S. mobile numbers of the people you will transact with have been enrolled with Zelle already.
