Leave a ReplyHey everyone, and thanks for letting me run a couple of tutorials past you all, I'm hoping to take as much feedback away from this as i can, and make my upcoming tutorials better for it! here's the link to the video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mERuQ1xJowI As the thread title states, this video is all about how to find/learn/build nail guns in 7 Days to Die, and I feel like i covered everything i should. If i missed anything, i'm sure you will be the first to let me know! I do have a few other tutorial videos on my channel, this was my first time every trying to make one though, so if it's a little long winded for some, or if you feel like i don't cover something, please let me know. I feel like my other videos are slowly getting better as i get a little more relaxed in trying to share what i know with the camera. Again, i'm not here to beg for subs, i'm here for feedback :) -things i overlooked -things i didn't explain clearly -things i could prepare better anything you spot that i could fix up for future tutorials. thanks in advance to everyone who helps out. I get that its a tool ment for building and thus modding it/changing damage and durability isnt very relevant in many cases. But the hammer and all other tools have those benefits, and that is awesome! As a player whos primary melee weapon is a steel pickaxe, i really enjoy using tools as weapons. They arent as good as sledges or clubs, but still oddly satisfying..! So back to the nailgun, if one were able to craft higher qualities of it, and be able to mod it with like, a full auto mod and magazine extender... Oh boy~ still worse and even more inaccurate than a held junk turret, but oh so lovely for everyone out there that have the angry-unhinged-mechanic survivor dream! The pimps are doing a very good job in general to be open and unrestrictive in terms of gameplay, so i just thought it was odd of them to remove the quality and modfunction on 1 single item with a durability bar.
What skill affects nailguns in Alpha 18? I just found a nailgun schematic, and looked to craft it, and it said it would only craft rank 1, while other power tools (chainsaw, auger) are on par to my tool crafting. My guess was nailguns might be impacted by handguns, but i dont want to waste any points as im doing a Pereception/intelligence build. Any information would be great. Showing 1-11 of 11 comments
Erm, The nailgun is a building tool- I don't believe any skill increases the damage it deals when firing nails.. I could be wrong, though.
If any skill perk affected it, it should be miner 69er, although I am not sure any one does, as the good Shurenai said.
There is only rank one for nailguns.
Thank you for your input, im not looking for damage, just durability, and miner 69er doesn't affect it, so thats why i was asking.
Thats odd, that would seem like a bug, as you could in previous versions, thank you. Last edited by pourprsn; 8 Nov, 2019 @ 2:52pm
Thank you for your input, im not looking for damage, just durability, and miner 69er doesn't affect it, so thats why i was asking. Oh; Durability.. I dont think the nailgun even takes durability damage anymore? At least not in the latest experimental. It's quality rank is just a '-' and it no longer has a listed durability stat.
Yea, as the good Shurenai and Marstil said. The nailgun is just "-" now and no need to worry about durability, as far as I also know.
It will loose durability if you shoot nails, like before.
Pretty sure in older alphas, it lost durability if you upgraded blocks or shot nails with it, but I could be just misremembering. If it does lose it when shooting nails now only, that makes sense also, and just not by upgrading blocks, if that is how it works. I think that is better, honestly.

I agree, thats way better, that was the only reason i was asking because of the upgrading costing durability. I hope that they do eventually add upgrades to make the nailgun better, like reducing repair cost and what-not, but they probably wont, as the nailgun is super late game, and is already pretty good.

I guess it might depend some on how many of those "nail some chicks" type quests you get, as to how many nails you shoot through it. Showing 1-11 of 11 comments What does the Nailgun do in 7 days to die?Description. The Nailgun is currently the best tool used for construction. It has the highest repair value, allowing for fast repairs of brick, metal, concrete and steel blocks, as well as various traps and devices. Additionally, it can shoot Nails, holding 10 in a single "magazine".
Can you make nails in 7 days to die?Nails can be cast in a Forge, and found in various locations (most commonly found in Garage Storage). Nails can be scrapped or smelted in a Forge to produce Iron.
Can a Nailgun be used as a weapon? All kinds of nail guns can be dangerous, so safety precautions similar to those for a firearm are usually recommended for their use. For safety, nail guns are designed to be used with the muzzle contacting the target. Unless specifically modified for the purpose, they are not effective as a projectile weapon.
