I think that time frame is too short. You would need to get an appointment for the eye test, choose the frames then it's probably a few days to go back and collect the finished glasses.

Wow, that's quick. I didn't know about them. I've learned something today. Last time I got glasses inSingapore it took 4 days. Just got new ones with progressive lens in Australia and it took 2 weeks.

My Sister had her glasses prescripted in SG too (@ a neighbourhood optical shop - 30min to test + 30min to choose her flame + 4 Day later to collect). She had that Transitions ZEISS lenses (Extra thin too) which is partially why it took longer.

I think that "glasses available in 20min is for 1.60-high-index aspheric lenses :D

Hi Me^Only, would you have a rough idea how much your sister paid for her glasses ? I just got a quote for glasses today in Perth ( I need the thinner lenses) and weighing up the costs compared to buying inSingapore later in the year. I visited Queenstown shopping ctr a couple of years ago which had a lot of small optical shops there. Anyone on this forum had any good service from the opticians there?

I just managed to get my sister on the phone; she told me her HD Crizal Transitions Signature lenses cost S$250 (Lens only) & the Flame was S$220 (definitely not Gucci / Police etc.) - The flame is abit 3D & Artistic :D Some good brand that other pple in can tell just by the handle :D

The Flame Price was 3 Yrs ago & The Lens is just late last Yr.

==> it is not Zeiss Lens cos she said the Optician mentioned that there are customer who complain Zeiss Transitions Lens does not get really dark like Crizal :D

As for Optical shop near town; my friend from Canada had used Kwong Shin Pte Ltd @Bras Basah Complex #01-43

I got prescription lens glasses in one day when I was there some years ago, they tested my eyes, I chose the frame and came back later to collect
