It went on to win the Pulitzer Prize in 1961 and was later made into an Academy Award-winning film, also a classic.

Compassionate, dramatic, and deeply moving, "To Kill A Mockingbird" takes readers to the roots of human behavior - to innocence and experience, kindness and cruelty, love and hatred, humor and pathos. Early printings had Harper Lee's photograph on the back. Later printings have reviews on the back.

The first printing of the dust jacket had a price of $3.95 on the bottom of the front flap with no printing statement.

later printings are stated on the bottom of the front dust jacket flap as is the case with this second printing jacket. Book club jackets did not state printing, nor did they state price. So even thought the price on this jacket is clipped, we know it is not a book club jacket because it states the printing.

There are two variants of the advance reading copy of To Kill A Mockingbird. The variant on the left says that the novel "will be published in July", and the variant on the right (photo courtesy of Ernestoic Books) states specifically that it is "to be published July 11, 1960". The more precise publishing reference on the variant on the right suggests that it was issued after the variant on the left.

My edition of To Kill A Mockingbird checks out as a first edition (brown boards, green cloth spline) except there is a W below the Library of Congress catalog #. Does this mean it's a book club edition, also?

I have a 7th printing jacket with the Grau on back flap and McGinly on the front flap making this change earlier then the 9th stated above.

My copy is first edition, seventh printing, 23rd impression. It is blue boards with light gray spine. The pages are upside down when the book is set correctly according to the writing on the spine of the book. Has anyone heard of a printing mishap on this book. It doesn't appear to have been tampered with. The dust jacket on the front flap has a green quote by Phyllis McGinley then starts the Shirley Ann Grau quote which continues to the back flap. Under that is a quote from Elizabeth Gray Vining. Any info or thoughts would be greatly appreciated.

Would love to know if you found out more information on this. I have the exact issue and am wondering its value. It is not a sticker; it is printed on the jacket.

I believe I have one of the Book Club 1st editions. It has a green cover with black spine, and has 255 pages. Copyright page says only "Copyright 1960 by Harper Lee. Printed in the United States of America."

I have a 35th and a 45th Anniversary edition signed and a pulitzer prize novel stated on the front cover also signed by Harper Lee and Scout. We are from Monroeville. Do you have any idea what these are valued at?
