Transformers revenge of the fallen legends class devastator

Devastator was a giant monstrous man-eating Decepticon Combiner made up of several of the Constructicons. Devastator was extremely powerful and even more violent, with a unfortunately limited mental capacity, he would really only be used to destroy on a genocidal level. He was used during the Battle of Egypt to uncover the Star Harvester. Devastator could also create powerful gravity wells by generating an artificial black hole with his Vortex Grinder, located in his mouth where nearby objects are sucked into his gaping mouth and devoured. Megatron commanded Devastator to kill Mudflap and Skids, though was unsuccessful.

History[]

Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen[]

Mixmaster, Scavenger, Scrapper, Hightower, Scrapmetal, Overload, Long Haul and Skipjack all met up with each other in Egypt on the orders of Megatron and Megatronus. His 8 components then transformed and combined, making Devastator, (Mixmaster becomes the head and neck, Scavenger becomes the torso, Scrapper becomes the right arm, Hightower becomes the left arm, Scrapmetal becomes the hand as they both connect with each other to make the arm, Overload becomes The waist and Long Haul and Skipjack become both right and left legs) who came together with a scary roar. He instantly started taking giant steps towards Seymour Simmons and the Autobots Skids and Mudflap. Devastator then began feasting on everything around him, including the ground and a Volkswagen van. Devastator even devoured Mudflap whole, who was unable to hold on. Devastator then coughed, not expecting to get the Autobot and let out a disgusting belch. Devastator got another nasty suprise when he realized that Mudflap was not dead, and the little Autobot punched his way out of the Combiner through its head, ripping through one of his eyes. Enraged, Devastator tried to buck Mudlfap off, firing off wayward missiles in the process, but Mudflap just shot him in the face, Megatron ordered Devastator to climb to the Great Pyramid Of Giza and unveiled the Star Harvester, when the U.S. Kidd Force fired their experimental rail gun, it striked Devastator with a massive blast, causing the wounded Combiner to fall from the Pyramid, crashing down before he could safely decombine and smashing apart, the dead Mixmaster flying from the wreck to a smoky stop, killing Devastator.

Alternative timeline[]

Toy bios[]

After getting dismantled by the railgun, at least some of the components that formed him at the time survived the ordeal. Ironhide made it his mission to hunt the components down one-by-one, starting with Mixmaster (Funny irony in the video game Transformers: Dark of the Moon, Ironhide fought with the Mixmaster and killed him).[2]

Devastator was last seen partially deactivated (presumably due to damage wrought to him by the railgun) and hiding in the African disaster zone.

Video Game History[]

Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen - The Game (Xbox 360/PS3/PC)[]

Devastator was unleashed in Cairo and began causing destruction with the NEST forces and Military army proving useless against the armour, also backed up by numerous Combaticon Warrior drones. Thankfully, Bumblebee/Other Autobot would arrive to confront the behemoth. By first destroying his back missile launchers, hip and arm-mounted weaponary while also dealing with the Combaticon Warrior drones and avoiding getting sucked into the vortex armour, his armored control node on his forehead would become vulnerable to damage. Once the node was destroyed, Devastator would collapse on the street, ending his reign of terror.

Errors[]

  • Considering how Hasbro confirmed the Yellow Bulldozer to Scrapmetal, In one scene when the Constructicons are about to combine Scrapmetal is a Volvo EC700C Excavator instead of a Caterpillar M930 Bulldozer But in the next scene when Scavenger pulls Mixmaster for the head If you look closely he is a back as a Caterpillar D9T Bulldozer again.
  • There were many theories by fans on what and how Devastator is suppose to be and what is his component, which those theories weren’t confirmed canon, they were head canon, It wouldn't be until Studio Series would release many Constructicons to merge in Devastator from 2019 to 2020 that it would answer some questions, but however, the right guess is, Devastator’s actual number of his components was 8, confirmed by Hasbro and the size chart.
    • Some people think Devastator is made of 9 or 10, but he is actual number he is made of is 8.
    • Some people think Skipjack is the feet and the yellow dump truck is the leg, but The Yellow Dump Truck was just looking at the 8 Constructicons combine.

Notes[]

    • Devastator's design were definitely made from the Supreme Class Devastator and Legends Class Devastator toys. The head, arms (without left hand) and legs were definitely sourced from the Supreme Class Devastator, but design torso and lower waist was taken from the Legends Class Devastator as this is the only toy in which Scavenger combined with Overload (before the was released toy Devastator from the Studio Series toy lines). As for the Unnamed Bulldozer and Yellow Dump Truck. Despite Yellow Dump Truck's appearance in the film, it was never shown as part of the Devastator's left leg. The Supreme Class Devastator toy incorrectly shows Rampage, even without Yellow Dump Truck, could single-handedly shape the left leg Devastator's which looked about the same as in the movie but really Yellow Dump Truck would combine with Rampage to make the left leg. Which makes it a error in the movie. A second bulldozer was added to the film as the left hand, presumably to ensure that the Devastator had the same arms size in the film. By 2020, there was a large retcon of the Devastator, it became known that the yellow bulldozer in the film alone forms the left leg of the Devastator and is named Constructicon Skipjack (not to be confused with Rampage), and the bulldozer forming the left hand of the Devastator in the film is actually Scrapmetal[3]. The toy bio of Studio Series Scrapmetal and Studio Series Skipjack confirms their presence in Egypt during the transformation into a Devastator as well.
    • Toy bios Studio Series Scrapmetal indicates that Scrapmetal was present in Egypt during Operation: Firestorm. He combined with his fellow Constructicons to form the mighty Devastator, forming the left hand of the monstrous titan. The above statement could potentially mean that with the same subtle retcon Hasbro made with Skipjack being the left leg of Devastator rather than Rampage.
    • Many of the Constructions who formed Devastator also appear in the Battle of Egypt at the same time. The ones that form Devastator are the real ones. The other clones participated in the Battle of Egypt. The Mixmaster that Jetfire killed, the Scrapper that chased Sam and Mikaela, and the Long Haul used to unsuccessfully find Sam are clones.
    • He was voiced by Frank Welker who was also the original first voice of Megatron from The Hasbro Transformers Franchise and as well as Galvatron from The Transformers Franchise after The Transformers: The Movie and as well as once again the voice of Megatron in Transformers: Prime and Transformers: The Last Knight and as well as once again as Galvatron in Transformers: Age of Extinction. Though he would be voice by Fred Tatasciore in the Games.

Trivia[]

  • When smashing the pyramid, his hand was travelling at a whopping 390 miles per hour.
  • When Hasbro was asked about if any of Devastator 's toy will include the wrecking balls, they replied straight out "no".
  • Devastator's model was so complex and detailed that it allegedly cause one of the computer to fail during production according to Shawn Kelly, catching fire and it's inside to melt. This could likely explain Devastator's short screen time in the final movie, likely to avoid any more devastated computers.
