Level getting from atlantic city to philadelphia airport 7 years ago Hi , we are from the UK and and travelling from NYC to Atlantic city but only have a day there and then need to get to Philadelphia airport for a flight to Boston. I see that I can get the train to 30th street and then another to the airport but I was wondering if anyone knows how much a taxi would be just to save time
Level 1. Re: getting from atlantic city to philadelphia airport 7 years ago There is TA posts in the AC forum where the same poster took a cab to 30th Street Stn. Twice. Or it was a cab each way on different trips. I'm going to go look, but she negotiated with the cabbie before entering it and I THINK it was $140. +, it's been a few years Wow! I found 1 of these posts http://www.tripadvisor.com/ShowTopic-g29750-i78-k3656631-Harrahs_casino-Atlantic_City_New_Jersey.html#26393631 AND. Best of all, my memory was correct about the price. While the post is from 2010, the cabride happened before the post.

I think that Susan W is asking about the cost of a taxi from 30th Street Station to the airport as an alternative to taking the SEPTA airport train. It has been probably about 3 years since I took a taxi on that route. Back then, I think it was about $30, plus tip. I am sure that someone else will have more current pricing.
Destination Expert for Philadelphia, Train Travel, Bucks County Level 3. Re: getting from atlantic city to philadelphia airport 7 years ago The taxi price between 30th Street Station and the Airport is still about $30. Except during rush hour, the taxi is usually a little faster than the train because the train. The train runs twice an hour, the trip is about 22 minutes. Taxi, in no traffic, takes about 15-20 minutes.
Level 4. Re: getting from atlantic city to philadelphia airport 7 years ago thanks for the help everyone, I was actually talking about a taxi from AC all the way to the airport at Philadelphia but the info re 30th street station is very useful too thank you. I have tried to contact AC airport to see if spirit air would be flying in February to boston but can't find out if anyone knows whether they do or not
Level 5. Re: getting from atlantic city to philadelphia airport 7 years ago I highly suggest to repost in the AC forum. I know there is posters there that have flown in&out of ACY more recently than me. And the cabfare to 30th St Stn is likely very similar to PHL airport as once you get over the Walt Whitman Bridge, the distance to PHL AMTRAK & PHL airport is probably near the same amount, give or take 5 miles and perhaps less time to PHL airport due to less highway congestion Have you looked into limo service? Since that post was 5yrs old and the cabride could have been last decade, prices have very probably went up. A pre~arranged limo service may be less than a cabride. I am thinking instead of typing 'may be', I'm going to go ahead and do it and type it: 'can certainly be'
Level 6. Re: getting from atlantic city to philadelphia airport 7 years ago <<I have tried to contact AC airport to see if spirit air would be flying in February to Boston but can't find out if anyone knows whether they do or not>> Why don't you contact Spirit Airlines? You would get a better answer than asking the Airport. http://www.spirit.com/Default.aspx It appears that they do fly from ACY to BOS. Edited: 7 years ago
Level 7. Re: getting from atlantic city to philadelphia airport 7 years ago You could also take Amtrak from 30th Street to Boston and avoid the airport hassles altogether. Is there something special in AC that you have plans for? You are going a whole lot out of your way to go there and AC in February is not my idea of fun. Edited: 7 years ago
Level 8. Re: getting from atlantic city to philadelphia airport 7 years ago Let's see AC is 60 miles from PHL, so at $2.50 per mile, you're talking $150. You might rent a car for less; you might find a car or van service willing to do that for less, like this one (I type "shuttle vans ac phila" in Google): http://www.rapidrover.com/Services.aspx Or you could take the Atlantic City train to 30th St Station as everyone has said. Here is another cheap and pretty frequent, but somewhat slow, way to Philadelphia (It takes 90 minutes). https://www.njtransit.com/pdf/bus/T0551.pdf You get to 10th Street and then get the Airport train down in the SEPTA Jefferson Regional Rail Station right there. Or take a taxi from there for $30. I think this bus is around $17. Here is the Atlantic City train line to Philadelphia: http://www.njtransit.com/pdf/rail/R0090.pdf To Summarize: 1) Expensive taxi, 2) more reasonable van, 3) NJ Transit train, 4) NJ bus 551, the latter two requiring a vehicle transfer to get the airport itself. I just noticed on the schedule: The Train is as slow as the bus: 90 minutes. Take what's leaving first. Edited: 7 years ago
Destination Expert for Newark, New Jersey, Binghamton Level 9. Re: getting from atlantic city to philadelphia airport 7 years ago The bus leaves from Greyhound while the train leaves from 30th. The train is not really direct as it goes north just to go south again, and stops along the white horse pike. The bus makes stops only in Camden and Sicklerville.
Level 10. Re: getting from atlantic city to philadelphia airport 7 years ago Actually, the bus ARRIVES at Greyhound (10th and Filbert) which is next to a commuter railroad station, while the train goes to 30th St. Station, which is also a commuter railroad station. Both stations have the Airport train go through it. And both stations have taxis which can get you to the airport in 20 minutes in the middle of the day.
