The City of Atascadero is now accepting band applications for the 2022 "Saturday in the Park" Concert Series.

Traditionally held during the summer months, the city is adding spring and fall concerts this year.

Fifteen free concerts will be scheduled from April 2 through November 4.

The spring concerts will be held from 4-6 p.m. at Sunken Gardens in downtown Atascadero.

Summer concerts will take place from 6:30-8:30 p.m. at the Atascadero Lake Park Bandstand.

Two fall concerts will be held on the first Fridays in October and November from 4-6 p.m. at Sunken Gardens.

Band applications must be submitted to the City of Atascadero Recreation Division by 5 p.m. on Friday, Feb. 18, 2022.

All of the events are outdoors and free to attend

– The City of Atascadero has announced the bands that have been selected for the 2022 Concert Series. The series has been extended beyond the traditional “Saturday in the Park” summer concert series at Atascadero Lake Park to also include a new, April spring concert series and a fall first Friday concert series downtown. The full series will include a total of fourteen dates to enjoy both in the spring, throughout the summer, and again in the fall.

Following is what to expect:

April spring concert series: Saturdays from 4-6 p.m. at the Sunken Gardens, Downtown:

  • April 2: Burning James All-Stars (Blues & Rock)
  • April 9: Carbon City Lights (Alternative Rock, Folk, Pop & rock)
  • April 16: Back Bay Betty (Contemporary Rock, Blues, Soul, Jazz)
  • April 23: Sōleffect (Blues, funk, rock, reggae band)

“Saturday in the Park” summer concert series: Saturdays from 6:30 – 8:30 p.m. at Atascadero Lake Park Bandstand:

  • June 18: The Counterfeit Kings (Cover Songs)
  • July 2: The Rockin’ Bs Band (County Rock)
  • July 9: The Jump Jax (Swing, Soul, R&B)
  • July 23: Ghost/monster (Rock & Roll)
  • July 30: The Cinders (Blues)
  • Aug. 6: Soundhouse (Rock)
  • Aug. 27: The JD Project (Rock, Blues & Country)
  • Sept. 3: Stellar (Classics & Fleetwood Mac covers)
  • Sept. 10: Truth About Seafood (Rock)

First Friday Fall Concerts: Fridays from 5-7 p.m. at Sunken Gardens, Downtown:

  • Oct. 7. Dv8 (80s Band)
  • Nov. 4: Unfinished Business (Timeless Rock)

All of the events are outdoors and free to attend. Concert-goers should bring a low-back chair and their wallets if they would like to purchase food. Also, “Dancing in the Streets,” will be held on Saturday, Aug. 20 from 5-9 p.m. in the Sunken Gardens and downtown area. An opportunity to see a variety of bands perform.
