Bissell turboclean powerbrush pet not picking up water

5.0 out of 5 stars Eliminated old dog pee stains
By Misty Cripps on April 20, 2021

I bought this specifically to clean bedroom carpeting that had been peed on multiple times by two small dogs.

So, this is the first upright carpet cleaner I've ever owned. I had a Bissell little green clean machine that I used previously that worked decently well, but needed something for a larger area.

Pros: As you can see from the before and after photos, this thing really works. I'm surprised because I've tried numerous spot cleaners and nothing has worked before today. For $99, I'm super happy with the results.

It's very lightweight. Made the two plus hours it took me to do the entire room a little easier.

It picked up about 2/3 cup of dog hair. That was amazing because I vacuumed immediately prior to using. Maybe I just have a terrible vacuum.

Cons: If you need to do an entire house, I might find something else. It took me over two hours to do the bedroom. Granted, it was extremely dirty and stained. Maybe this is true of all upright carpet cleaners, but I had to go over each dirty/stained area a million times, and do it very slowly. Like as in sloth-like slow. It requires a lot of patience.

The dirty water container is a pain to empty. The first time I removed it and tried to carry it to the sink, I spilled dirty water over the carpet I just cleaned. It wasn't a big deal after I figured out how to carry it, but be forewarned.

The washing water container doesn't hold much. It's not a huge deal if you're only doing a couple of bedrooms. I imagine it would be very painful of you were trying to do an entire house.

Like I said, it picks up mountains of pet hair. I didn't read the directions, so I don't know if it mentions it in there, but the only way I could get the hair out of the roller area was to use my finger. Sort of gross. Mainly because I had to do it so many times.

Despite the things I didn't like about it, it was super easy to use, the results are amazing, and the price is exactly right!
