Then at Marie Marriott and the Gaylord national harbor. 1. the food is terrible anything you get it bites is dry old and terribly expensive. Some of them like hamburgers and pizza or dry crust is hard and it looks like it’s been sitting there since the day before. 2. and extend this week that has an outside patio really nice courtyard fire pit overhead canopies holds 20 to 40 people. But both nice and they’ve been partying at 2 o’clock in the morning to 4 o’clock in the morning. I’ve called the hotel multiple times to try to get it to quiet down as it’s so loud I recorded a video in my room and you can actually hear it on playback. 4 o’clock in the morning had to get dressed to go to the front office to talk to the manager. He said he would call to try to calm them down. Apparently it’s a wedding. Don’t wanna bust the wedding but it is a hotel people sleep at night, That being said it’s not too far-fetched to say you should be able to sleep at night in a hotel. And not having 25 to 30 people with music outside talking and laughing. I would think they should close that off about midnight. Took me four attempts and security still didn’t resolve it. Now it’s 4:30 am and there’s still people out there. What does it take to get a good nights sleep at a Marriott. Walking down the lobby I’m amazed at four in the morning how many people are hanging out around the hotel kind of weird. Like groups of people talking and carrying on, not necessary in a bad way or destructive way but things have changed over the years I think. I’m sure Marriott doesn’t read these, but whoever invented fresh bites program to minimize good food good cooking and fresh they should fire them. Just taking the hotel chain and other brands down the same path will save money let’s make it easy for us. But I think you forgot about the customer. Remember this is a customer orientated business, service let’s get some good food in here and fresh food Just a little information on my two days stay

Hotel's Favorite

I stayed here on a busy summer Saturday night and had a wonderful stay--I don't understand all of the negative reviews. Despite the hotel hosting a large convention that weekend, I was still able to check into my room early and was upgraded to phenomenal 14th floor atrium views. I'm Platinum Elite, and the upgrade was top-notch. The room was clean and spacious with a wonderful inside balcony and large bathroom. I've never seen an indoor balcony with such terrific views. My friend and I sat on the balcony on Saturday night as the hotel played a movie for guests in the atrium and watched it, along with the night lights of the Capital Ferris Wheel. Despite being such a large hotel, it was never noisy (even from the balcony with weddings going on below us). All of the staff at the hotel were accommodating and friendly with our questions. The hotel has a great location right along the river, and is walkable to all of the attractions and restaurants in National Harbor. If I had to make any recommendation, having an outdoor pool along the river versus indoor with outside sun deck, would have really made this hotel special. In addition, the pop-up "Replay" bar could have used a bit more atmosphere and bartenders for a busy Saturday night with weddings and a convention. All-in-all, my friend and I loved this hotel, and it really made our stay in National Harbor. We keep referencing "that balcony" since leaving and plan to return--if not for National Harbor, for this hotel.

Since I have now spent over an hour in the parking lot waiting to get out, I’ll put this time to good use. You would think a center of this size that hosts multiple conferences would have a better traffic system. Two hapless gate guards without management support who should make the easy decision to raise the arms since most of us have prepaid the parking….extremely poor or indifferent management.

Approximately, 95 family members were in attendance. The facility is magnificent! We were greeted warmly from check-in to check-out. It did not matter if you were dining or simply walking through. There was much to do in the vicinity, such as the Capital Wheel, the Universal Soul Circus, along with fine dining within walking distance and an outdoor movie. My room was exception, also- spacious and clean! There wasn’t anything I did not like about my experience there. Our initial contact, in group sales, was superb! Thanks to everyone we encountered during our stay. Oh, let’s not forget the concierge!

Room Tip: I will say the rooms were more than we’ve ever paid; however, the group rate was great! Many...

Where do I start!? The hotel itself is beautiful however as a Marriott girl for the past 20 years, this was by far one of my worst experiences. The signage isn’t clear so you don’t really know where to park when valeting. No problem, however when we get there, they say valet is full 😳. Next we did a mobile check in thank goodness because the lobby wait was outrageous. It reminded me of Vegas. The longest line ever to check in. We get to our room and It’s as if someone snuck in and took a nap and had their lunch. Instead of resolving through a phone call, they insist we go back to the chaotic lobby and WAIT IN LINE. The one shining light in this story was the manager Nicole who was apologetic and got it all sorted. We go into our new room and not only is it missing a MINI FRIDGE, the floor is not clean. At this point I give up. Marriott Gaylord Housekeeping needs to be retrained. See the pictures

From first glance, the starbucks looked friendly and exciting. But once, I went up to order, I realized it wasn’t. I ordered a drink and asked for no lemonade and they gave me lemonade plus they charged a dollar for it. Very disappointing and I will not order from the starbucks while staying here ever again. Additionally, the workers didn’t understand anything and need to be trained better.

Made the mistake of booking a two-night stay here with family members and it was one of the most disappointing hotel experiences we've ever had. While the Gaylord is very impressive looking and has beautiful views, you'll need to be prepared to be in the middle of a very crowded convention event and where hotel management is totally insensitive to their guests' food needs. Amazingly, nowhere on the property to get a quality served breakfast--everything is pre-packaged and very expensive. We ended up eating all of our meals offsite. The rooms that we paid over $400 per night were small, no views, very limited channels on the TV, and refrigerator didn't work. Had trouble getting the room key to work with the parking payment terminal so ended up having to pay with a debit card to exit and being charged again on the hotel statement. Definitely won't return to this or any other Gaylord property.

We have visited this property several times for Ice etc., but have never stayed overnight. We decided to treat our two kids to an overnight before starting school, and attended the princess/pirate academy and did the scavenger hunt as well. The pros to our stay were the academy show, the light show and the room. The cons were everything else! First of all, the staff are woefully inconsistent and unaware of most things. We were told by one employee that restaurants were open for lunch and by others that they were not. This led to us walking around aimlessly with my elderly mother who uses a cane. The only place opened for lunch on Saturday at a resort such of this was the market who provides pre-cooked meals under a heat lamp- REALLY? The food was awful and we would have been better off going off property or even McDonalds! We were then told that the pool bar opens at 1:00, and it did not! We finally left, so no idea when it actually opened! And then your bar service...why at a resort of this size would you not open your bars until 4:00?!?! Do you realize the amount of $ you are losing by doing this? And then again with the food options, the ONLY semi affordable place to eat with kids was the Harbor Social were we ended up spending $228 on mediocre sliders. All in all we spent around $700 for one day, not including the pre-paid tickets for the show and scavenger hunt (which btw, was really difficult and when we asked employees for help, they knew nothing!). Lastly, we had an issue with our bill and had to contact your accounting department. We will not be returning to this resort in any capacity as this was not hard earned money well spent. This resort is not worth the money you will spend and is not geared towards families!

Pro's: Reasonably good service, very friendly staff, self contained hotel, close to attractions, clean, fun light show. Cons: Cafe area is a nightmare. It's very unclear that additional registers are located at the very end and clerks were constantly shrieking NEXT!! The hotel was accommodating a large group event and were clearly understaffed. Coffee was lukewarm with bland options. Starbucks clerk spoke and understood limited English and got our orders, which i repeated twice, wrong. At 3p.m. there were virtually no clean towels for pool goers. The cold drink machine by pool area and arcade was not working and my suggestion to at least put a sign up was met with indifference. No mini frig in room and mini coffee pot is a 1970's throwback. Rooms are very small. Bathroom and closet good size. Overall unimpressive unless paying expensive costs for the privilege of staying there impresses you.

The hotel is beautiful. The conference facilities are very nice and the buffet lunch was tasty and innovative. When I asked about Tesla or ev charging I was told that there is availabilityIn the garage near the elevators on each floor but you need to bring your own cord. It turns out that there are no EV marked spots and these are simply 110 wall outlets that are near parking spaces. With a resort of this size I think they should have EV charging.

Date of stay: August 2022Trip type: Traveled on business

Room Tip: Only 110 outlets for EV charging
