I'm wondering if I should buy the fluid by the quart, gallon, or 5 gallon can. Planning on using Dex VI. Thanks. 03-19-2014, 01:00 AMTECH Resident iTrader: (4)

As per his website, Jake recommends Dex III but says Dex VI is fine as well. Dex VI is meant to replace Dex III and has numerous improvements. It's a little pricier and harder to find, but I'm going to give it a shot. The genuine GM Dex VI can be found online for $5-6/qt which isn't too bad. I'm hoping to find it locally for that cheap but my local dealers always charge list price 03-19-2014, 01:28 PMTECH Senior Member Thread Starter iTrader: (59)

Chris at Circle D said Dex III and VI are fine, but VI is a bit overkill unless you can get a good price on it. I think I'm going to go with Napa brand dex VI. Apparently it's the same thing as the Valvoline full synthetic dex VI but cheaper at $7/qt. 88861954 is the part# for 1 gallon of GM Dex-VI, list price appears to be about $34. Looks likes it's a synthetic blend. It can be found cheaper on eBay. 04-07-2014, 05:32 PMTECH Senior Member Thread Starter iTrader: (59)

Does that sound about right? 4L80E, converter, 40K cooler, stock pan, -6AN cooler lines (bypassed radiator) all completely dry? 04-07-2014, 05:39 PMTECH Fanatic iTrader: (5)

How much oil goes in a 4L80E transmission?Transmission Fluid. How many quarts of transmission fluid does a 2000 Chevy Silverado take?Transmission Fluid Change. Are all 4L80E transmission the same?4L80E Differences:
'91 -'96: They are all pretty much the same. They were also known to have a crappy connector that passes through the case.
