However, Apple is not alone in its recent price increase. Netflix, Disney+, and Hulu all increased their prices in 2022 and are launching cheaper, ad-supported plans. One reason Apple's streaming service is priced so affordably is that there's no back catalog — unlike Netflix, Apple has made no mention of licensing any TV shows or movies for its new service. While Netflix, Hulu, and Amazon Prime Video have been around for a long time now, the streaming revolution has really taken off in the last handful of years with the emergence of streaming platforms like BritBox, Disney Plus, HBO Max, Peacock, and Apple TV Plus. Apple TV Plus is a bit different from some of those other services, though, as it does not rely on a library of classic TV shows and movies. Instead, Apple's streaming service is entirely built upon an offering of exclusive, original TV shows and movies, with new things to watch coming along roughly every single month. Below we break down everything that you need to know about Apple TV Plus, from what’s on it to how much it costs and how you can start watching. How much does Apple TV Plus cost?As of October 24, Apple TV Plus saw its first price increase, with the monthly fee rising from $4.99 per month to $6.99 per month in the US, with comparable price increases taking place internationally as well. The price is effective immediately for new subscribers, while current subscribers will see the increase reflected in their next monthly billing statement (though you should be getting a 30 day notice for it).
