Vanilla Ice Cream (no churn!)
Prep: 10 mins
Freeze: overnight
Super Easy
Don't shy away from the amount of vanillla - for best results look out for vanilla bean paste as it will make the final ice cream taste like all the premium tubs in the supermarket!
We adore this ice cream recipe - so easy you could almost make it with your eyes shut! So creamy, smooth and undeniably delicious... no stablisers, preservatives or anything weird.. try it this week you won't regret it!
Nutrition and allergy information
Best ever! Wow! So creamy, very rich. Split between 2 tubs, added chopped stem ginger and 4 tsps of the syrup to one.
Ingredients
Method
Vanilla bean paste or vanilla extract
900g loaf tin or similar to store the ice cream

Step 2 of 3
Beat the cream to soft peaks then add the condensed milk and vanilla and beat again to soft peaks.
If you're adding extra flavouring to your ice cream, now is the time to do it! We like to add cocoa powder for a delicious chocolate ice cream, or mix through berry coulis for a raspberry ripple.
Step 3 of 3
Pour the ice cream into a freezable container. Freeze until solid (about 3-4 hours or overnight).

Rated 5 out of 5 by Trissie from So easy so popular so versatile ice cream The family loved this ice cream and having cleared the box, they asked for more variations. Basic vanilla goes with anything, but the salted caramel sauce and home made almond brittle version went down very well indeed. There was enough of the almond brittle to freeze for later. Coffee with grated dark chocolate is another favourite. There’s no end to the pleasure this recipe brings. Thank you Carnation.

Rated 5 out of 5 by K8Kent from Whole can of Carnation! I have made this three times. The first time I misread the ingredients and used a whole tin. It was amazing. The second time I used half as per the recipe and it was really dry and not good. The third I used a whole tin again and it was great again. I will always use a full tin and I know it will be good.

Rated 5 out of 5 by AuntieCas from Vanilla icecream better than shop bought I made this 8 weeks ago and it is gorgeous, I've rationed myself but the family loved it when they visited. Put it on facebook because I was so proud and was emailed from Dublin for the recipe.

Rated 5 out of 5 by Brave recipe tester from Fantastic creamy ice cream! Wow best and easiest ice cream I’ve ever made - I used a whole tin of condensed milk as never know what to do with left overs! Great as just vanilla but also perfect for adding different flavours. I’ve added lime rind and stem ginger also added crushed amaretti biscuits and almond essence to basic recipe.
