However, head coach Kyle Shanahan and midseason addition Christian McCaffrey have helped the offense rank in the top 10 in total yards and points per game. Oh, and by the way, the 49ers defense is the top unit in both yards and point allowed per game.
Not only are the Seahawks hopes for an NFC West title hinging on this game, but their playoff hopes are going to be greatly impacted by the outcome of this game. At 7-6, they are on the outside looking in at the playoff picture right now, with other NFC teams surging behind around them.
They'll need quarterback Geno Smith, having a magnificent comeback year, to have one of his best games, supporting by rookie running back Kenneth Walker and Pro Bowl receivers DK Metcalf and Tyler Lockett. A standout game from the defense is also going to be necessary, though that unit has been struggling all season, ranking 28th in yards allowed per game and 30th in points per game.
San Francisco are road favorites in this one, but not by a lot.
